Writing a Song
The first step I take in writing a song is to strum around on the guitar. Once I have come up with something that pleases me I start humming along with the chords I'm playing and I listen to see if I can hear any words from the chords and the humming sometimes its just one word others times its a sentence. I will sing the same word or sentence over and over and over until I feel another word or
sentence. It usually only takes a couple words to give me a feeling and a direction for the song I have just created. Now that I have a direction I use my memories of how something similar made me feel or how I think something would make someone else feel. So just after a couple word or a sentence and adding how I feel or how I think someone else would feel begins a story and once the story is started it almost always writes itself. I give it my all to be honest and true and speak from my heart. I'm not claiming to be an expert just talking about something I love.
